Christmas 2021 // The first Christmas in our new home

Welcome to our home all decked out for Christmas and to DAY 2 of the It's a Colorful Life Christmas Tour 2021 blog hop. A bunch of us are sharing our (colorful!) homes all decked out for Christmas and are so excited to have you join us. Jennifer is a fabulous host and I'm so grateful she invited me back. She's got such fun and southern-chic style that I've always been a little envious of-- ha!

If you're coming from Pender & Peony, welcome! Aren't her spaces to die for?! I'm seriously obsessed and want to be her when I grow up. #grandmillenialforever

Now let's get started! Without further ado, here is our living room decorated and ready.

I wanted the decor to feel soothing yet chic and reflective of our everyday tropical decorations.

I reused many things from years past (especially our 2019 Christmas tree) and added in some thrifted finds like crystal jars and brass accents.

The orchid centerpiece is my favorite part of the space. I purchased the beautiful brass bowl at a garage sale for $5 in November. The orchids are from Lowe's and topped with faux boxwood and jingle bells. I hope I can keep it alive all winter!

Pastel colors, tropical leaves, blush poinsettias, pale green and striped ribbons, plus loads of sparkle adorn the tree.

Our freshly painted china cabinet had a ribbon garland glow-up.

Back to that centerpiece again... #hearteyes.

Before we head to the dining room, I'll show you the fireplace.

I kept my usual tropical plants, sea shells and blue and white but mixed in Christmas throughout. Of course I borrowed the palm fronds from our back yard :)

I'm obsessed with this candle from Target (Peaceful Pine and Juniper) and haven't stopped burning it since I bought it.

I don't usually decorate our kitchens but I wanted to this year since it flows from the dining area.

A wreath, garland, and sparkly village houses add holiday cheer to the pre-existing plants and shells.

That's it for our main living space (and the only spaces I will decorate this year). It's a lot of work decorating a new house for the first time but I always love the outcome.

Thank you for stopping by, it truly means a lot to have you here. Make sure to check out Courtney from Zig and Company next, she always blow my mind with her creativity.

xo,

Rachel
